Born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in the nearby town of Batavia, she still is a no-nonsense midwesterner. Although she does find true southerners quite charming. The Reason for the Season mixes the day to day life of a harried mother with contemporary social issues and mystery of who committed a brutal murder. The story is fast paced and hard to put down. This is a sequel to Tree Huggers which brings back one of the author's best characters, Kate Dennison, now Kate Haas.
